What is the Constitution of Medina?

Posted by: admin    in Uncategorized

The Constitution of Madina (also known as The Medina charter or the charter of Medina) was written promulgated by the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). It was for the constitution for the multi-religious and ten thousand-strong citizen of the state of Medina in 622 AD. It is a remarkable political-constitutional document and it is regarded by scholars as the first written constitution of human history upon which all the later constitutions were founded.

The noted Islamic scholar and jurist Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri analysed the constitution and made 63 constitutional articles. It can be downloaded here.
